Our regular readers should know that a Jordan Flight Court “Black Cat” colorway was inevitable. Jordan Brand’s two preceding hybrid/offshoot models in the Spiz’ike Low and Jordan 4 RM have already embraced the sought-after design theme, and now lo and behold, the Flight Court is doing the same for Summer 2025.
Originally introduced via the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” in 2006 and revisited on the Jordan 3 the following year, the theme derives from a nickname Michael Jordan earned for his feline prowess on the basketball court. Drawing its appeal from Air Jordan lore and a general fondness for all-black footwear, the “Black Cat” has become one of the most sought-after design themes in the Jumpman’s arsenal. The “Black Cat” 4s returned in 2020 and saw resale prices explode in the years thereafter; a trend that undoubtably helped informed Jordan Brand’s 2025 strategy. The “Black Cat” Jordan 3 returned for its first retro in Q1, and looking ahead, Jordan Brand is giving us another Jordan 4 “Black Cat” retro on Black Friday 2025.
The “Black Cat” moniker has become somewhat synonymous with all-black Jordans featuring suede/nubuck, and that’s largely what we see here. Official images of the Jordan Flight Court “Black Cat” reveal a leather mudguard and heel, suede upper paneling, and a continuous streak of black across the midsole. The Flight Court packages elements from the Jordan 3, Jordan 4, and Jordan 5 into a low-top silhouette reminiscent of 2000s skate shoes, but it’s a lifestyle proposition at its core.
The Jordan Flight Court “Black Cat” is due out during the Summer 2025 shopping window, meaning a release can occur any time between April-June. The model retails for just $100, making it one of the most cost-conscious members of the Jordan catalog.
