Vans Owens High Vulcanized - Taka Hayashi

Taka Hayashi, one of the more eminent artists in the streetwear scene today, has collaborated with Vans on this sick pair of Owens Highs.  With the interesting addition of a lace panel, these Vans can definitely be skated without fear of damage to the laces.  Aesthetically pleasing as it is functional, the lace panel is only but one of a number of other unique visual touches to these Vans, including a bit of furry accenting, some nice embroidery, and of course the classic Vans waffle sole, for that extra bit of grip.   Definitely not something you see every day, these Owens Highs are very visually powerful, relying on unconventional design to supplement the rather conventional template that the shoes were based on.  The colorway goes nicely with the unique styling, relying on a timeless black profile with white sole to create a visual effect devoid of unnecessary color, and as clean in coloration as it is wild in design.  Definitely a nice drop here from Vans, expect these to draw notice wherever they show up.  Via CaliRoots.
