Vans Forty-Four Hi West VS. East - Crooks VS. 5BORO

In the mid 90s Vans strayed away from their ever popular vulcanized soles and experimented with innovative cup sole designs. One of the products from this venture is the Vans Forty Four Hi Model. The Forty Four Hi aims to blend high end style, with top notch performance. To start out 2009, Vans is dropping some new Forty Four Hi models guest designed by some better known Vans aficionados from around the World. A drop so huge that it is creating a contest of sorts to see who came up with the best design. All of these guest designers have a unique approach stemming from different backgrounds and cultures that affiliate them with the brand. First off we have two models from the West Coast, one designed by street wear veterans Crooks and Castles, and a second designed by a mystery shop. Next are a couple of models to represent the East Coast, the first designed by the infamous NYC skate crew 5BORO, and the second being another mystery shop design. Finally to round things out, the last Forty Four model of the set (not pictured) is designed by UK professional skateboarder Danny Wainwright, who arguably holds a World Record for the highest ollie. All these Vans Forty Four’s are scheduled to release for Spring 2009. However, the West Coast inspired designs will be available at only West Coast shops, while the East Coast’s will be available at only East Coast accounts. Lastly, Danny Wainwright’s design will be available at all of those shops who elect to carry it. As a bonus, the Crooks and 5Boro models will be released along side matching tees. Info: Vans
