What’s so significant about the Air Jordan 1 ‘Royal’? It’s one of the earliest Air Jordan releases that were individually numbered. A limited run of the Royal 1s released, but nobody even knows how limited. Why is that? Some of the pairs were numbered out of 31,213, while others were out of 11,928. Sales samples were numbered 00000 out of 00000. Strange at the very least, but the Royal 1s from 2001 are still one of the most coveted Jays of the decade, although next Saturday’s release will definitely close the book on the hunt for some collectors.
