The Nike Air Rift, A Japanese Derived Design, Is Coming Back Soon

The Nike Air Rift, A Japanese Derived Design, Is Coming Back Soon

Receiving a short revival a few years ago, with both general releases and Nike Lab upgrades, the Japanese-influenced Air Rift is back once again, toting its split-toe tabi design for an audience more readily accepting of eccentric offerings. Part sandal, part sneaker, the forthcoming pair is keeping palettes subtle in its use the popular monochrome scheme as to more deeply connect with Ninja get-ups. Branding is much more minimal, opting for a small embroidery hit along the forefoot with black on black hits across the heel counter fastener. A much larger strap finds itself adorned across the entire midfoot, which shrouds the opening of the synthetic upper while also adding a dose of extra utility. If you missed out on these prior or were too young for their original 1996 debut, stay tuned as they are set to hit Nike.com as well as select retailers very soon.
