Stadium Goods And Sotheby’s Sell “Ultimate Sneaker Collection” For $850,000

Stadium Goods And Sotheby’s Sell “Ultimate Sneaker Collection” For $850,000

Stadium Goods and Sotheby’s recently teamed up for a comprehensive “Ultimate Sneaker Collection” auction, with 100 of the rarest sneakers in the world available for purchase, but it looks like bidding is coming to an end earlier than expected. Canadian entrepreneur and investor Miles Nadal recently purchased 99 of the 100 pairs for an extremely handsome sum of $850,000, leaving behind only what some considered the collection’s centerpiece: an original 1972 Nike Moon Shoe. Nadal has said he plans to display all the sneakers — ranging from adidas Yeezy models to friends/family versions of Travis Scott‘s Air Jordan 4s and the iconic Nike Air Mags and more — at his Dare to Dream Automobile Museum in Toronto. They’ll sit alongside his whopping collection of 142 cars and 42 motorcycles, and Nadal is clearly excited to diversify his holdings, as he said “I have always been an avid enthusiast and appreciator of unique art and collectibles that represent innovative design, exceptional craftsmanship and new and exciting trends in pop culture.” As rare sneakers continue to gain value and prestige, this momentous sale further solidifies their shift from a product to an investment item, and helps cement their standing in the world of high-end luxury goods as well. Check out a video of the collection directly below, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page to stay up-to-date on what’s arriving later this year as well.
