With its translucent TPE upper and ultra-futuristic aesthetic, the Nike Vapormax 2019 is an intrinsically versatile sneaker, and for its latest act it’s gotten dressed up in an ultra-sporty colorway complete with some uniquely elegant details. The see-through construction is held together by black taped seams, then accented with a trifecta of athletically-inclined tones: a vibrant crimson appears on the midfoot Swoosh and tongue text, a bright yellow runs around the heel taping, and a bold blue lands on the tongue badge. The aforementioned elegant details then arrive in spades, thanks to a full-foot white and blue pinstriped underlay that’s instantly visible through the upper’s clear panels. Part seersucker and part baseball uniform, it presents an unquestionably compelling style, one we haven’t yet seen on these new-age Nike shoes.
