COMME des GARÇONS’ Vivacious Black And Pink Appears On The Nike Ghost Racer

Easily one of the most iconic of the Rei Kawakubo signed Nike collaborations — next to the Dunk, that is — the CDG x Air Max 180, in its beaming three variations, still holds influence over the current market as it continues to rise up the resale charts. Often paying homage to their breakout hits, Beaverton is once again matching energies, giving the color blocking that has become near iconic another chance to shine atop the equally aggressive Ghost Racer silhouette. Brought back only recently, with colorways quite slowly pushing it into the spotlight, the model has gotten quite the push as it offers up an almost perfect translation with appropriately few spins. This time around, overlays bear a more nappy texture in its usage of suede while the mesh of the unders add texture where its muse’s neoprene did not. Swooshes are miniaturized in similar fashion with matching smooth leathers, soles take on the same vibrant hits save for a small note of carbon fiber prints, and even rear branding take on somewhat connecting embroideries, making for a perfect consolation though removed of any of the Japanese institution’s branding. Grab a good look at the pair right here, and if you’re looking to grab your hands on them, stay tuned for official word on its Nike.com and select retailer release.
