The NBA x Nike Air Force 1 High Returns With University Gold Accents

The NBA x Nike Air Force 1 High Returns With University Gold Accents

The NBA has had a history of banning wearables — e.g. upside-down headbands, shooting sleeves, jewelry, and even the Air Ship. And with this Air Force 1 High, Nike is celebrating many of these items, bringing them back to the court in an entirely new way.

Here, the devil is in the details. At a glance, the pair may seem like nothing special, its colorway unassuming in its Triple White uppers, gum soles, and black accents. But throughout, the brand has embellished many a fixture: for instance, the Swoosh is capped off with a riveted, metal cap, accessorizing in a way athletes are not afforded. Above, even the vamp and tongue’s insignia are oriented the wrong way, referencing the aforementioned headwear rather subtly. Shooting sleeves also inspire the design, as the yellow-dyed counter piece only dresses the silhouette’s dominant side.

For a closer look, see the official images below. Pairs are available right now at $110 USD via Nike.com.

In other news, Jackie Robinson Air Griffey Max 1 was revealed earlier last week.
