Vans Brings Liberty London’s Century-Old Fabric Expertise To The Old Skool

Vans Brings Liberty London’s Century-Old Fabric Expertise To The Old Skool

Alongside its efforts to assist dozens of small businesses across the world in the face of Covid-19, Vans has been tapping its network of collaborators for special footwear and apparel projects. For its latest collection, the 55-year-old company has traveled overseas, landing in England, to rework the Old Skool and a number of other products with Liberty London’s 146-year-old expertise in fabric craftwork.

Since 1875, the Regent Street locale has had its countless patterns hand-drawn or painted by its in-house team. The London heritage site’s collaboration with Vans is no different, with three brightly-colored floral and paisley prints first being created by hand before becoming full-blown fabrics at Liberty’s Italian printing mill. Black, white or blue set the stage for the respective patterns, with the most latter color pairing with a more subdued and sporadic application than its two footwear counterparts. Accompanying accessories and clothing also boast the vibrant, spring and summer-ready patterns albeit less prominently.

The California institution’s latest collaboration is now available via Vans.com with prices ranging from $48 USD to $99.50 USD.
