UCLA Bruins Receive Air Jordan 6 P.E. Inspired By Varsity Jackets

Despite a losing campaign against the University of North Carolina in the Sweet 16 of this year’s March Madness tournament, the UCLA Bruin’s Men’s basketball team has recently been awarded its very own player-exclusive Air Jordan 6.

Akin to the Nike Dunk Low colorway associated to the Southern California-based team, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a vibrant blue, faintly-cracked leather across most of its upper. Starkly contrasting gold animates the shroud partly covering the laces, with the tone also landing on the sports car spoiler-inspired structure at the spine and the accents found throughout the Nike Air-assisted midsole. Lace toggles replace their classic Jumpman logos with the university’s “handwritten” name; branding on the heel’s lower-half is also replaced by “UCLA” text. The latest Air Jordan P.E. adds another tally to NIKE, Inc.’s storied roster of special takes on “His Airness”‘s signature sneaker legacy made exclusively for some of the country’s top collegiate talent. Each component found on the varsity jacket-stylized retro suggests it pays to be a Bruin.

Elsewhere under the Jumpman umbrella, the Jordan 4 “Black Canvas” is expected to release in August.
