The New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX Built With Faded And Worn Uppers

The New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX Built With Faded And Worn Uppers

From 2020 onward, the New Balance 2002R enjoyed a wealth of exciting releases, some of which — namely, the “Protection Pack” — became so popular they caught the attention of counterfeiters. And even despite the advent of the 1906R, the silhouette shows no signs of slowing down in 2022, as it’s soon to debut a make-up upgraded with GORE-TEX.

Here, the Boston-based footwear brand has done much more than waterproof the shoe. Alongside the implementation of GORE-TEX, which is signaled by the embroidered logo across the toe, the colorway features a number of distressed elements. For example, the blue-colored, leather trims along the forefoot, collar, and lace unit are worn white, a treatment identical to that of the blacked out tread underfoot. The grey suede through the upper is similarly finished, albeit in a fashion much more subtle.

For a closer look at this upcoming 2002R, check out the official images below. As of writing this, no release date has been confirmed, but it’s very likely that we’ll see these on NewBalance.com before the end of the year.

In other news, images of the Air Jordan 1 Stash White Nylon have surfaced.
