The Nike Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” Kicks Off Air Max Month

The Nike Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” Kicks Off Air Max Month

In honor of the silhouette’s 25th anniversary, last November saw The Swoosh retro the famed Nike Air Max 97’s “Silver Bullet” colorway. Following months of previews and leaks, the Beaverton brand’s iconic Air Max Day is introducing the month with the latter pair’s regal counterpart, with the Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” officially set to return next Tuesday.

Rendering its last appearance in 2018, the Japanese bullet train-inspired effort mimics its five-year-old counterpart to a tee, coating a dominant majority of the upper’s real estate in the premier golden finish from its mudguard to its mesh underlays and heel. In direct correlation with its 1999 debut, pops of “University Red” inject a vibrant personality within the embroidered Swooshes while a series of jet-black embellishments along the sock liner and pull tabs engage in stark contrasts. Illuminated through a crisp white wash along the midsole, the pair’s staple monochrome marbling ensues underfoot.

Releasing next Tuesday, March 7th, for a retail price of $185, enjoy official images of the Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” below in the meantime.
