Crocs’ transformation over the last couple of years is one for the history books. Once worn purely for comfort by essential workers, the brand known for its unibody rubber slip-ons have been embraced by youth culture across the globe particularly for its buzzworthy roster of collaborations.

The brand has been able to infiltrate circles of “cool” thanks to the work of Salehe Bembury, whose Pollex designs have raised the bar for easy-entry comfortable footwear. But it’s the partnerships with large franchises like McDonald’s and Coca-Cola that expand its reach, and it’s about to connect with one of the largest cult followings in the world.

This month, Crocs will launch a partnership with Hello Kitty, the iconic character born in Japan. Created by Sanrio in the mid-1970s, the voiceless feline cartoon took the world by storm by way of endless merchandise. Adorning the Classic Clog, the Hello Kitty Crocs feature a white upper, a red heel strap that color-matches its bow and shirt, and a blue midsole that coordinates with its overalls.

Expect a full family size run on January 17th, 2024 at Crocs and accompanying retailers.
