The ASICS GT-2160 Heads To “Paris”

The accessible runner odes to the "City Of Lights."

The ASICS GT-2160 Heads To “Paris”

While Nike’s Olympic efforts may be getting the most pub, ASICS has a lot staked in this year’s international games, with Novak Djokovic and a list of other signature athletes set to compete this summer. Their latest pack release is aimed at making sure they’ll arrive in style with the “Paris” collection.

The ASICS GT-2160 is in the spotlight here for us, a subterranean silhouette compared to the meteoric success of the GEL-Kayano line, but one of a half dozen ASICS styles that taps into the same sensibilities.
It’s a split between two different visual schools here. On one hand, the cream & metallic base is a perfect example of the Y2K wave so dominant in the Japanese company’s catalog.

On the other, a gradient from neon green to neon orange weaves through the full profile, embracing the hi-vis accents that typically mark modern running formulations. Narratively, the full colorway nods to the Paris’ storied history in that neutral tone, while representing its “City Of Light” moniker through the highlighter shades.

The ASICS GT-2160 releases via ASICS channels on July 5th, retailing for $120, dropping alongside two similarly clad  GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII styles. Hit the link under “Where To Buy” to land on the product page & get an early look at the full collection.
