Andrew Rizzo LeBron James and Nike have crafted another shoe in honor of LeBron’s “I Promise” school in Akron. Following the release of a Witness 8 earlier this year, the LeBron 22 is checking in with clever details inspired by graduation season, including insoles featuring the lion logo in cap and gown.
Taking after the color-changing nature of flamingoes as a potential nod to South Beach, the upper transitions from pale to vibrant pink as you move from the top down. Fittingly, the tongue and lining opt for the pale shade while the lower elements skew toward bright treatments. The midsole-encompassing Swoosh features what appears to be textured suede, while the lower panel comes in leather with white stitching. On top of the insole graphic, Nike adds more “I Promise” significance with a stitched-on blue and green graduation cap on the medial side of the midsole.
