Here’s the scoop on the cushioning: the Zion 4 boasts a Cushlon 3.0 drop-in midsole and a full-length parabolic Air Zoom strobel. In comparison, the Zion 3 featured a drop-in midsole is comprised of Formula 23 foam with a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot only. The upgrade in tech is designed to handle Williamson’s forward-like load and guard-like springiness, but for consumers, its a better overall bang for buck.
Sticking once again to a low-cut design that is more often associated with guards and frontcourt players, the Zion 4 supplies a wider surface area on the sole than previous versions. Furthermore, the cupsole frame adds even more stability for a more grounded feel, on top of the newly added Zoom Air at the heel.
