Matt Varga Updated July 7th, 2025: A first look at the Nike Air Foamposite One “Carbon Fiber” has been revealed on Nike’s SNKRS Live basketball showcase for Fall/Holiday ’25. These are expected to drop this Holiday 2025 season for $240.
We can’t really be back in a Foamposite renaissance until we see some big swings on the silhouette. In making good on that, Nike is dipping into their own “Reimagined” style compositional change, with a pair of Foamposites that extend carbon fiber throughout its iconic shell upper.
Of course, the carbon fiber midfoot shank has been a mainstay of the model throughout its history, so sizing up its application is a fitting way to imbue some new tangible energy. At this stage, that hardware curveball and a palette of “Black/Black/Dark Smoke Grey” is all that’s confirmed.
However, if we’re to read the tea leaves, some similar previous releases could guide how this concept came to be. Specifically, the carbon fiber Nike Air Flightposite One from 2014 and a chromed-out “Silver Silver” Foamposite in 2017 are close comparisons. The All-Over Swoosh variation from 2019 presents as a potential close cousin, at least aesthetically.
Note that this news supersedes the Foamposite One “Dark Smoke Grey” that we reported in January. Though the color codes remain valid in broad strokes, the material overhaul becomes the earnest headline with this shoe, and updated mock-up images are expected to closer resemble what we’ll get at the end of this year. Look for the Nike Air Foamposite One “Carbon Fiber” to release in time for the Holiday 2025 shopping season.
