The New Balance 550 Shakes Out A “Salt & Pepper” Colorway

Just when it seemed like the New Balance 550 was due for a bit of a break, a quiet end to 2024 has been followed by a scourge of new colorways for Spring/Summer 2025. If you’re staying true to the retro model amidst shifting sneaker trends, you’d be pressed to find a more versatile option than this “Salt & Pepper” colorway.

The design features a mix of black, grey, and white shades, with “Sea Salt” treatments on the tongue and midsole lending a pre-aged feel. Grey suede makes up the collar and toe, complemented by black hits on the quarter border, leather collar overlay, and all branded elements. The rest of the upper favors crisp white leather, concluding a “Panda” vibe on the basketball-turned-lifestyle staple.

The “Salt & Pepper” 550 retails for $120 and will be available via newbalance.com during the Spring/Summer 2025 shopping seasons. See official images below and hit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming New Balance.
