Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance RC56 Revealed

A collaborative tip-off for the new model.

Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance RC56 Revealed

As among the most cherished collaborators in New Balance’s rolodex, Teddy Santis and Aimé Leon Dore imprint are often one of the first calls when the brand is trotting out a new model. It’s been a little bit, however, since they’ve been the very first, exactly the case as images of the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance RC56 double as our first look at the silhouette.

Speaking it broad strokes, the shoe appears centered on a past-meets-future concept, landing in the lineage of low-profile predecessors in the RC30 and RC42. Catch that tie with the modest stack height underfoot, yet its molded contours and trendy design language up top emphasize its hybrid construction. There, the obvious comparison is to the New Balance 1000 with the rounded toe and curvilinear overlay panels, a fin-like midfoot shank akin one used on to the New Balance 2010. It also makes creative use of the N-lock technology prominently featured on the New Balance 1906R family, extending past the eye-stay to serve as the penultimate lace loops.

Though heavy use of green ties this into preceding ALD work, there’s no doubt that the brand continues to spread its wings as its relationship with New Balance gets longer in the tooth. It’s certainly a far-cry from the tonal work that helped catapult the New Balance 550 to the forefront of the sneaker world; this even contrasts the tonal looks utilized on a similarly techy silhouette in their NB 1000 collab from 2024.

The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance RC56 is currently reported for a Spring/Summer 2025 release, but further info including retail pricing is unclear at this time.
