Serious runners know game. The Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 did not go by unrecognized as it shattered records with proven ability to do what it’s built for. Already touted for its historic awesomeness, it’s hard to believe that the Pro Evo 1 could get any better. That is, until adidas decided to announce the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2.
Unveiled here in a launch “Lucid Red” colorway, the Pro Evo 2 steps in with a 10% increase in fore-foot stack height, which delivers up to a 5% energy return (because of science). What’s remarkable is that the added stack height comes with zero change in weight. 3mm of more Lightstrike Pro cushioning without adding weight is the real secret sauce here.

While a $500 running sneaker is likely out of the reach of most casual runners, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 marked an important moment in adidas Running history. It essentially reset their design aesthetic to revert to a more minimal, stripes-focused design. It’s lower-priced and more approachable Adizero Evo SL might be the best looking running shoe in that highly-competitive $150 price-point.
A limited number of the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 is set to drop in limited quantity on April 25th, 2025 for $500/€500. A wider launch is expected this Fall.
