INVINCIBLE Continues Its Masterful Decon Series With The Converse Wave Trainer

Making new shoes look used is an art form. The pre-loved era of sneakers is largely defined by an overuse of faux aging via yellowed midsoles, but INVINCIBLE has managed to redefine the aesthetic through a meticulous selection of materials. They’ve displayed that acumen with ease in their recent collaborations like their adidas Consortium Handball Spezial, but they’ve dialed it up again with this limited edition Converse Wave Trainer.

Converse’s most recent entry in the retro runner market gets a significant upgrade at the hands of the INVINCIBLE team; they’ve applied a Decon effect by stripping the shoe’s build of any additional padding to create a more streamlined look on foot. The exposed leather edges further pushes the aesthetic, only enhanced by the drab palette of grey, beige, and vintage white.

The silhouette’s softness is represented through INVINCIBLE’s imagery below, which features the toe-box thumbed down and the heel folded inwards to give off that well-used appearance. However, it only speaks to the suppleness of the leathers and suedes that were chosen to build the design.

Only 100 pairs of this collaboration were created and will be handed out to the brand’s Friends & Family inner circle only. A public release is not expected.
