While we’d be remiss to pick any favorites, Brain Dead’s relationship with adidas has already paid plenty of creative dividends. The Los Angeles imprint’s subversive streak has already given way to a Three Stripes bowling shoe and a turf-coated version of the Forest Hills. Now, we’re getting the tangible results of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 preview in Paris, as a flame-broiled version of the adidas Japan Lo is now careening towards release.
As you’ll see in our previous coverage, what first hit the ‘net was a Hi version of the adidas Japan, emblazoned as the “adidas Brody King.” Even if the two pairs that have now surfaced embrace the Lo cut, already recently reintroduced to the mainline, the central design aspect remains in place, as licks of fire take over the suede strips at the heel and toe. Two differing palettes drape the construction, each deploying contrast outlines below the flames themselves; one in brown/olive/yellow, and one in black/blue/white. Otherwise, the usual hallmarks of the model remain in place, including the slim sole that should make these a trendy choice.
The Brain Dead x adidas Japan Lo is beginning to populate retail sites with an August 28th date. Be ready for a $140 retail price upon arrival.
