It’s a strategy that has been proven effective, given by the incredible turnout for the Undefeated Jordan 4, but will we see a similar result for the Air Jordan 5 Tokyo23?
Released back in 2011 to commemorate TOKYO23’s basketball tournament, this Air Jordan 5 release was made exclusively in Tokyo, Japan in highly limited numbers. Aside from the vibrant shade of yellow on the upper, the Tokyo23 Jordan 5s were best known for the kanji-inspired “23” logo on the heel, building the connection between Jordan’s legacy and the massive fandom of the GOAT in the Far East.
The 2025 version of the Air Jordan 5 Tokyo23 is a near-identical release to the 2011 original, only the rubber toe has been replaced from original black to the new yellow in an effort to preserve the originality.
Currently, a release date is penciled in for August 23rd exclusively at Tokyo23 locations and atmos via their app. atmos has a raffle period open between Wednesday, August 13, 2025 9AM JST to Thursday, August 21. Winners will be announced on August 23rd at 9AM JST, with pairs shipping out between August 23rd and August 28th.
