It’s been truly wonderful seeing MLB teams relax their on-field footwear policies in recent years. Many of baseball’s brightest stars can effectively wear whatever cleats they want nowadays, which bodes well for self-expression, customizers, and sponsors all the same. A brighter spotlight on athlete’s cleats has tricked down to off-the-field sneakers as well, shown here via this super-limited Jordan 2 “MLB” PE.
Created in 2024 for just ten Jordan-sponsored baseball players (think Aaron Judge, Mookie Betts, Jazz Chisolm…), the sneaker takes inspiration from iconic baseball bat manufacturer Louisville Slugger. A tan wood grain finish appears on the side panels, while a custom tongue badge nods to the bat brand’s unmistakable oval logo. A red tag reading “Louisville, KY” just out from the eyelets around the collar, while “1884” and “1894” text on the heels tributes the years Louisville Slugger was founded and then officially trademarked. We all know that MJ’s second signature model isn’t regarded as one of his best, but even haters have to admit these do a fine job of executing on their theme.
To state the obvious, the Jordan 2 “MLB” PE is for select Jordan-sponsored baseball players only and will not see a public release. Hit our Jordan Release Dates page to preview pairs you can actually get your hands on.
