It was only a matter of months ago when the New Balance 992 was almost a forgotten member of the catalog, thrown to the wayside as the brand explored other suede runner silhouettes. Holding true to the “absence makes the heart grow fonder” truism, the model’s return has been well met and populous, with some of NB’s foremost collaborative partners taking on the shoe: Action Bronson, Joe Freshgoods and his Every Now and Then imprint, Teddy Santis’ Aime Leon Dore and the Made In USA sub-set he curates.
The latter is looking towards its Fall/Winter 2025 selection, marking the one-year anniversary of the 992’s comeback effort. In contrast to the neutral, tonal fare that usually paces Santis’ work, here the New Balance 992 brings a more vibrant take on that saturated design language. Pale blue suede and light blue leather strips contrast a midnight mesh base, while pale pink in the rear midsole leans more “baby shower” than “Dusk Shower.” While it’s far too early to make any overarching judgements on what the Boston Brand and ALD founder have in store for this capsule, this adds to the 990v6 “Dark Camo” in pairs we’re expecting from it.
Typically, the seasonal Made in USA collections follow a staggered release schedule throughout the back half of the year. We’re expecting that same treatment for the New Balance 992 Made in USA “Dusk Shower,” landing sometime in Q3/Q4 for $200. Keep our Sneaker Release Dates page within reach for more updates as they come.
