After a heavy marketing push to begin the summer, the New Balance 2000 is beginning to heat up again anew. Coming on the heels of a two-pack in “Black” and “Grey/Blue” that touched down on NewBalance.com to start July, another duo is creeping onto the scene, one half delivered with the New Balance ABZORB 2000 “Sea Salt.”
Stepping towards the “dad shoe” aesthetics that run rampant elsewhere in the brand’s catalog, the New Balance 2000 coats its upper entirely in white and off-white, a change that helps enhance the no-sew applications in that section. Speaking of enhancement, the break in coloring with the bisected ABZORB pods and outsole traction draws the eye there more than it already does on an inherent compositional level. Though the sporty vibes that the shoe crossed off with its debut “Baby Blue” and some subsequent colorful follow-ups helped to accentuate the retro sportstyle design language, this variation is more proof that you can never really go wrong with all white.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 “Sea Salt” will likely touch down in the closing days of Q3 or sometime in Q4; the usual $170 sticker price is expected.
