Following perhaps his final appearance at the Olympics, Kenya’s Eilud Kipchoge, the founder of the sub-two club, reported that he’d be mulling a shift in his career: leaning further into mentorship and away from his dazzling on-track performances. Even if that tangible change is only a recent development, that inspirational and aspirational bend has been a part of his scattered Nike collections since their inception, unchanged as the Eliud Kipchoge Alpha Fly 3 comes into view.
The guiding light here is Kipchoge’s “no human is limited” motto, both a trademark piece of wisdom and reportedly the title for his upcoming autobiography. With it, he implores athletes (in the “everyone with a body” Nike sense, no doubt) not just to color outside of the lines, but to exceed the boundaries that the outside world places on us and those that we place on ourselves. The narrative is creatively splayed out on a drawstring bag bearing an array of scribbled Swooshes, running the gamut of the vibrant tones that coat the actual shoe. Outside of an off-white synthetic foundation and a bit of similar real estate in the sole, Kipchoge’s do-up almost iridescent shading throughout for a can’t-miss first impression.
The Eilud Kipchoge x Nike AlphaFly 3 is expected to release sometime in the Fall/Winter 2025 window, retailing at $295.
