adidas Is Already Looking Forward To The 2028 Olympics With A “Made In USA” LA Trainer

From the moment Los Angeles was announced as the host city for the 2028 Olympics, adidas already knew which model it would bring back to help celebrate the occasion. The adidas LA Trainer, originally released in 1984 for that year’s Los Angeles Summer Games, is getting an early start to Olympics festivities with a rare return from the Three Stripes archive. What’s more; the sneaker is made in the USA and crafted using premium materials.

The adidas LA Trainer aligns with other 80s runners with a mesh upper, suede overlays, and sharp, angled silhouette. Coming in as a premium take on an OG colorway, this “USA” edition features buttery “Preloved Violet” suede and “Silver Metallic” leather stripes over a “Dark Marine” mesh base. The model’s defining feature is a trio of adjustable, shock-absorbing rods in the midsole, which allow the wearer to fine tune the sneaker according to their weight and running surface. That tech might seem gimmicky today, but it was revolutionary for its time. Just like the model’s OG colorway, this “USA” edition features red, white, and blue rods in a display of patriotism.

The adidas LA Trainer “Made In USA” releases September 1st, 2025 via adidas CONFIRMED, priced at $250. See official images below if you’re thinking about copping.
