The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” first appeared on Michael Jordan’s feet during the 1996-1997 season, one year after the legendary 72-win championship season. The silhouette is inspired by 19th-century boots as well as the Japanese flag; the stitch lines mimicking the “Rising Sun” motif commonly associated with the Eastern country.
