The latest installment in Kobe Bryant’s rejuvenated line has already made serious waves with clever marketing for its inaugural “Halo” look and an eye-catching new arrangement in the Kobe 3 “Christmas.” But the most radical change was still yet to be seen. Insiders and various friends of the family have been hinting at it for months; finally, it’s now tangible with the Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro.
Embracing the shortened height that Bryant himself and longtime Kobe designer Eric Avar lobbied for ahead of the Kobe 4, the Kobe 3 Low is a brand-new look for the silhouette, never exploring such a remodel in its original time on the shelves. Crucially, that performance shift spurred a run for the Mamba signature line often regarded as among its best, spanning beloved models up until the Kobe 8. For the shoe at hand, this does appear to be faithful to the OG, maintaining the diamond-shaped synthetic outer cage, separated toe-cap, and performance sole unit, obviously with the exception of a curved collar to befit this lower life.
Nike Basketball and Vanessa Bryant, who bring us this first look, promise that the Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low will hit shelves come 2026. In the meantime, check out detailed shots throughout this piece and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page within reach for more.
