Week 1 of the NFL season is (almost) officially in the books, and the earliest of returns for the Jaguars and Travis Hunter were positive. Genuinely a once-in-a-generation talent, the Heisman winner kept to the Jaguars’ stated split, playing a predominant role on offense while tossing in some scattered snaps on the opposite side of the ball. All of that X’s and O’s intrigue falls second to the most important statistic: the W column. As icing on the cake, one of adidas’ splashier signees continued his winning ways in styling, trotting out a cleat version of the adidas Anthony Edwards 1.
Teased throughout the lead-up for opening tip, the adidas Anthony Edwards 1 largely keeps to the layout we promised when we first broke news of the performance modification, keeping the AE1 Low upper intact while tacking on a spiked underfoot platform. Despite the retro 90’s palette of his squad, Two-Way Trav debuted a white/black/neon green color-up of the silhouette, largely borrowing from the “Best of Adi” AE1 High.
To backtrack slightly to that rollout effort, adidas US Football’s press continued the attitude-filled marketing strategy we’ve seen throughout the Anthony Edwards shoes era. No orange void on tap for this one, but Hunter was the focus for a fishing-oriented spot in which Edwards surprises the rookie with these very cleats inside of a cooler.
For the moment, the adidas Anthony Edwards 1 Cleats are exclusive to Travis Hunter, but you can expect them to go public sometime in Summer 2026.
